El­der­ber­ries were not cul­ti­vated in Eu­rope un­til 1960. But peo­ple soon no­ticed the many pos­i­tive char­ac­ter­is­tics of the tree - its low sus­cep­ti­bil­ity to dis­ease, and its frost har­di­ness, for ex­am­ple. The plant quickly grew in pop­u­lar­ity, and now it is hard to imag­ine the Eu­ro­pean land­scape with­out it. For our Biotta El­der­berry, we use Haschberg el­der­ber­ries - the va­ri­ety with the best qual­ity and most in­tense flavour. At the end of the sum­mer, the black berries are care­fully hand-picked and pressed. The nat­ural juice then pro­duced in our plant is with­out ar­ti­fi­cial ad­di­tives or added sugar. Thanks to the care­ful and gen­tle pro­cess­ing meth­ods, this juice is fruitily mild, and a real treat for the palate. El­der­ber­ries are well known for their pos­i­tive qual­i­ties.
