When cranberries ripen in the untouched forests and on the sunny hills of the Romanian Carpathians, a special time begins for many families.

With great patience and traditional craftsmanship, the small red berries are harvested by hand – far from hustle and bustle, noise, and industrial agriculture. In one of Europe's most biodiverse natural landscapes, this is how the valuable organic lingonberries for our Biotta lingonberry juice are produced. A story about true connection to nature, sustainable harvest, and people who live in harmony with nature.

Harvest season runs from August to September. The small red berries are collected using wooden combs and then sorted by hand. This is gentle on the plants and guarantees top quality. For most families here, the harvest means a secure additional income, and they are proud that the juice made from it is enjoyed in many countries around the world. They have heard of Switzerland, especially that it has even higher mountains there. The berries are collected at collection stations, where the goods are checked, weighed, and paid for immediately. Afterwards, the berries are frozen and transported by truck to South Tyrol, where they are turned into natural juice through gentle pressing. Right after that, the juice is transported to the Biotta factory in Tägerwilen (TG). Once there, the pure juice is made ready to drink with tea extract and a little agave nectar, then bottled into Biotta bottles. No bottle can hold more naturalness.
